Swedish companies can now share files securely with BankID

PRESS RELEASE:

Following the recent debate about how Swedish companies and authorities use cloud services, the requirement for sharing sensitive information has been raised. In response, the Swedish cloud service Storegate now offers the possibility to share files and folders securely with BankID.

BankID is by far the largest e-identification system in Sweden and is managed by the company Finansiell ID-Teknik BID AB, which is owned by several Swedish banks. In March 2018, there were approximately 6.5 million active BankID users and more than 600 web services supporting BankID. The fact that Storegate now also supports BankID for secure sharing of files and folders means that it will be even easier for companies and public authorities to exchange information over the Internet.

Sharing files with BankID launched for all business customers

- Today, there is a high demand for services to store and share files securely in the cloud. With Storegate you can now easily complement your existing cloud services to get a secure management of your business or government data, says Matz Karlsson CEO of Storegate AB. This is possible because Storegate develops its services on its own platform and can therefore develop services tailored to the needs of the Swedish market. In addition, all files are stored in our own servers located in data warehouses in Sweden. Having our own platform also means that we can offer customised cloud services to secure, store and share files. The feature will be launched next week to both new and existing customers, concludes Matz Karlsson.
