Storegate takes the next step in the development of secure file sharing in the Swedish cloud. The updated public link dialog now has a modernized interface, a more intuitive user experience and several new features that give IT and business even greater control, without compromising on simplicity for the end user.
In the latest update, SOSA R3 2025, there is better support for BankID and Freja eID verification, the ability to allow uploading in folders, editing Office files directly, as well as restricting access after a certain date. All this in an updated suit!
Brand new opportunities for public links
In addition to the improvements in the interface, several brand new features for public links are also introduced:
- Hide creator’s name on public links
Reduce personal exposure and keep the focus on the organization, not the individual. - Enter your own name for the link
Make it clear to the recipient what the link is about, e.g. “Project X – drawings” or “Documents for quarterly meeting”. - Prevent downloading of files
Allow the recipient to preview Office files and PDFs, without the possibility to save them locally. - SMS password verification
Add an extra layer of security by allowing the recipient to receive a one-time password via SMS.
We are pleased to give our users even more control over how files are shared externally. With the new controls for public links, it will be easier to adapt the level of security to the situation, without compromising usability.

New right-click menu in Storegate web app
At the same time, a new way of working in the file list in the Storegate web app is introduced. With the new right-click menu, you can quickly select and work with files and folders:
- Right-click on a file to choose how to edit it
- Get faster access to common actions directly in the file list
- Simplify everyday work when you work with many documents at once
It provides a more efficient way of working, especially for users who often switch between sharing, editing and updating files.
