We at Storegate are happy to start the new year with an update of the Pro Backup software to version 2.0! We have chosen to leave version 1.X behind, as this is a major update that provides even more choices when creating backup profiles. The changes to the profile format mean that it is not possible to roll back from version 2.0 to 1.X once you have updated the program.
What's new:
- Back up from external cloud services, such as Amazon S3, Box, Google Drive, Microsoft Azure, OneDrive, OpenStack Object Storage and Rackspace.
- Support for backup from FTP, SFTP and WebDAV.
- New backup engine, including 64-bit version.
- New profile format that allows you to select more tasks than the default choice.
- Scheduled tasks, archives and logs in a single calendar or list view.
- It is now possible to select the "fastest" compression level for archives.
- Ability to schedule backup recovery.
- Support for Pushover notifications.
- The calendar now shows icons for schedules, logs and archives.
- Other minor corrections and improvements.
Update methods
Updating via the client (Help -> Check for updates) will be possible within the next few weeks.
